This week, my goal is to encourage you to watch foreign movies, and if you are wondering why, here are a few reasons,
· You can learn about new cultures, landscapes, and food.
· Explore the world of foreign films by getting away from the familiar and build a broader perspective.
· In addition to broadening one's knowledge base, international films can immerse one in an active and intellectual experience that will stay with you forever.
Here are a few Korean Series recommendation that will leave you flabbergasted, amazed and over the moon.( lol)
Crash Landing on You
If you are a fan of historical fictions or not, you will love this movie. Apart from learning about the physical and political wall between the North and South Korea, Knowing that this delineation prevents the south from being within the territory of the north and vice versa is a true representation of their reality even till this day,( Something i didn't know before) I can guarantee anyone who dares to watch this movie on Netflix that you will have a different perspective about Korean movies. Its on #Netflix and its sooooooooo good. Prepare to laugh, cry, celebrate sand get angry all the same time. This is an 11/10 Rating for me. lol
2. 100 Days my Prince
If you are a fan of historical fiction or not, you will love this movie and possibly fall in love with how Koreans slurp their noodles. It centers around a prince who was assumed dead after an assassination attempt. He survived miraculously and was rescued by a local community who did not know who he was and having lost his memory could not remember that he was a prince... Their cultural attires and mannerisms will be imprinted in your memory for a long time. I picked up on few words by the time i was done watching this series. Its a 10/10 for me.
3. Vagabond
If you belong to the category of action movie lover, Don't worry, I also got you covered and this is a fantastic recommendation, The storyline revolves around a man whose little nephew was killed in plane crash as a result of political and conspiratorial cover up. In America, the killing of one's dog or cat is what usually evoke this kind of rage and truth finding revenge.( Remember John Wick Movie?) you just have to give respect to the Korean movie industry and appreciate their craftmanship after seeing this movie. I was at the edge of my seat almost the whole time. Its 10/10 on this one.
